Known as a premier active holiday destination with personalized programs from sports to lifestyle medicine, Thanyapura Sports and Health Resort has for years been an iconic Phuket establishment. Yet the consequences of the ongoing pandemic made it a struggle even for this place.
Last Friday (Feb 19) Thanyapura Sports and Health Resort announced that it has been sold to a new group of owners, the well-respected Yenbamroong business-family.
The news was announced yesterday (Feb 19) in a public letter signed by Thanyapura Founder Klaus Hebben and Thanyapura President and CEO Philipp Graf Von Hardenberg, The Phuket News reports.
“The Yenbamroong family is very committed to the purpose, the mission and the concept of Thanyapura and has become a partner in our international holding ‘Thanyapura World’ as well,” The Phuket News quotes the letter.
The new owners of the resort will be represented by Khun Marisa Yenbamroong, a part-owner of Northern Gulf Petroleum (NGP), and a Director of Gulf Overseas Investment Trading Corporation.
“Please help us to spread the good news, that the vision and purpose of the ’Land of Abundance’ in Phuket will even get stronger, and that we internationally will carry the Thanyapura Phuket torch,” the management said.
On its website, Thanyapura describes itself the following way:
“Thanyapura is an oasis for people who want an active holiday destination to rebalance and recharge using sustainable and holistic practices. Our goal is to help you feel and perform better for a healthier, happier lifestyle.”
Thanyapura's top-level sporting facilities include everything for triathlon training, aquatics training, tennis fitness and more. The on-site hotel offers 114 well rooms in either the pool wing or garden wing, plus a conference centre and more.
The resort also has its own medical center with detox, weight loss, regenerative and anti-aging treatments. Two all-day restaurants healthy and fresh food.
