Recently the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa held the F&B Masters event for 2015.
The competition focused on three main disciplines; Bar, Culinary and Barista.
Rounds were staged at the hotel, country and regional levels and all competitors were given a chance to show off their respective areas of expertise.
The winner for the Barista category was Khun Chalalai Saenkhan. Khun Chemean Prakong took the award for Bar, Khun Kanokwan Kraithep took the award for pastry and Khun Weerawach Hattapanit won in the Culinary department.
There were 22 contestants in total and all contributors were tasked with cooking their signature dishes live for the judges, as well as making coffees and mixing cocktails. Each presentation had to match the themes of the Hilton hotel outlets and they were all judged on skill, technique, innovation, creativity, presentation, hygiene, safe working practices and time management.
The Judges weren’t the only ones to benefit from the exquisite dishes on offer, members of the media and other guests were also treated with mouth watering meals and beverages too. A large variety of exotic, delectable dishes were on offer such as Andaman king prawn curry and lime leaf; roasted lamb loin, fried black rice with egg white, buttered pumpkin and carrot and many many more.
The event was another example of how Phuket really is home to a vast variety of amazing culinary delights.
