If you’re going to be a drug dealer, what better way to get around town than by taxi? If you’re a taxi driver and a drug dealer, you can make a delivery to your customer and then collect a nice pricey fare on the way back home; two birds with one stone.
22 year old Taxi driver/ drug dealer, Sakchai Niyomdacha was working these two jobs it would seem, right up until his arrest on August 4th this year. At around 3pm on Tuesday, Officials staged a drug raid at Sakchai Niyomdacha’s abode in the Phuket area of Tambon Thepkrasattri, after being tipped off by undercover police officers who stated that Sakchai was in possession of illicit drugs and was conducting a drug dealing business from within his own home.
Officials discovered half a kilo of Kratom leaves in the stereo system and one hundred and seventy one meth pills stuffed in the leg of a pink teddy bear that was found on the premises. A teddy bear would seem like a smart place to hide illegal materials like drugs, but there’s something about a grown man being in possession of a stuffed toy for children that tends to arouse suspicion.
Along with Sakchai Niyomdacha, the Teddy bear was taken into the Thalang Police Station, presumably as an accomplice. Sakchai was charged with being in possession of Category 1 drugs with intent to sell, as well as the charge of holding category 5 drugs. It was discovered that Sakchai had been dealing illicit drugs to his co-workers and local teenagers. It has not yet been determined what the punishment for this crime will be. Hopefully the Teddy bear will get off lightly.
