Travelling around Thailand can be great fun. There are many pristine beaches and islands to visit and the mountains in rural areas are a wonder to behold. Temples are another popular tourist destination, as are the floating markets that can be found along the Klongs of Bangkok and other provinces.
When it comes to the food, Thai cuisine rates as some of the best in the world and there are many places throughout Thailand where a variety of different dishes can be found. The streets of any major city or town are always overflowing with food vendors and the street food, more often than not, is more delicious and authentic, not to mention a lot cheaper, than the meals you would buy in high end restaurants.
Thai dishes are often quite spicy, which is great, but when you’re a tourist who isn’t used to eating Thai food, the call of nature can sometimes come quite suddenly and insistently. The sudden need for a nice toilet is quite common for tourists in Thailand but the sudden appearance of a toilet when you need one, is unfortunately not.
This is why efforts are now being made by the department of tourism to make tourist destinations around Thailand more toilet friendly. The appropriately named ‘WC OK’ Campaign aims to make sure that more toilet facilities are made available at tourist sites and that they will be kept in a clean, presentable state.
With more hygienic toilets on the way, Tourists will soon be able to travel to their favorite tourist destinations without having to worry about holding anything in.
