For 5 consecutive months Phuket’s arrivals were over the one million mark which makes Phuket to one of the Thai holiday islands number one.
The figure for April was 1,040,748, up 4.75 percent on the same month last year.
However, international arrivals and departures turned downwards fractionally.
That international total of 547,906 was just 0.92 percent under the tally for April last year.
Domestic travelers rallied, though, jumping to 494,297, an 11.84 percent lift over last April when street protests in Bangkok kept many people at home.
The Junta and beach chair rules appeared to have had little effect on Phuket’s Arrival Numbers.
Even the lately occurred earthquakes won’t have a significant effect on Phuket’s steady arrivals.
