Phuket is home to many strange and wonderful places, some are prominent and well known whilst others are hidden gems. Here are a few of the more popular ones you can find.
Old Phuket Town
For those seeking a blast from the past, Old Phuket Town is the place to go. With a unique blend of Colonial and Chinese Architecture, the area is a nice, pleasant change for those who wish to escape from the garishness of modern day life.
Phang Nga Bay
For those who have been in the city for too long and are in need of a heavy dose of nature, Phang Nga Bay is the perfect place to go. The limestone cliffs that protrude from the pristine waters are a true wonder to behold. James Bond Island is one of the many beautiful places worth visiting in this bay.
Going to Bangla Road during the day is vastly different to going there at night. When the sun goes down, Bangla Road wakes up. If you’re a person who finds it hard to resist temptation, Bangla Road might best be avoided, especially when drunk. There’s a good chance you’ll wake up next to someone you don’t want to on the following day.
At the other end of the spectrum to Bangla Road, there is Wat Chalong Temple. Beautifully decorated with tiny mirror pieces, the Temple reflects the Island’s more spiritual side. On special holidays, stalls are set up around the temple, selling all sorts of things, including delicious Thai food. It’s a great place to go if you’re looking for something a little more wholesome.
Phuket Fantasea Show
Experiencing the Phuket Fantasea show, one could be led to believe that Las Vegas had packed up its bags and moved from the desert to this tropical paradise location. The extravaganza is a fascinating mixture of Thai Myths and modern day spectacle. Definitely worth a look.
