If you’re new to the isle of Phuket and you don’t know where to begin your wild adventures, here are some starting points for you to try out. They’re great places to plant yourself and your belongings if you’re looking for easy access to the best places that the island has on offer.
There’s nowhere quite like Bangla Road anywhere in the world and if you choose to stay in inner Patong, you’ll not only get a chance to be conveniently near to this area, you’ll also be very close to Patong beach. There are many hotels in the area so you probably won’t have to book ahead.
There are even more hotels on the outskirts of Patong, than there is on the inside. Outer Patong is a lot quieter for when it’s time to go to bed but if you’re looking for action then you might have to spend a bit of money on Tuk-Tuks or taxis to the center.
Karon and Kata
The quiet towns of Karon and Kata are for those seeking a more peaceful holiday destination. In these towns tourists get the best of both worlds, with a nice and quiet location that still provides easy access to party central in Patong. It’s about a 30 minute drive from the wild nightlife of Bangla road.
To the north of Patong is a wonderfully secluded beach that is 6km long. There are plenty of luxury hotels in this area so if you’re looking for a slice of heaven on earth, this is the area you should head to.
This little town is for those seeking relative solitude. It’s for those who are looking to get away from it all, whilst still having access to all the luxuries of traditional restaurants and shops. For somewhere so quiet, it’s funny to think that Kamala is home to the massive Fantasea theme park, one of the most amazing attractions on the isle of Phuket.
