As usual, Australia is following in America’s footsteps. Just the other week it was announced that Americans with passport and visa issues would be having services provided for them in Phuket at the end of October, so that they wouldn’t have to go to the bother of traveling all the way to Bangkok in order to get things done. The Consular Section of the American Embassy in Bangkok held an Outreach Visit at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort in Karon on the 30th of October to help out with issues such as Passport renewal applications for both adults and children, as well as passport replacements for passports that had been lost or stolen.
Now it seems the Australian embassy is following their lead and getting in on the act. On the 13th of November this year, from 9am to midday and 1pm to 4pm at the Australian Consulate in Phuket, a number of services will be provided, such as Passport applications, Notarial Services, Statutory Declarations for marriage, retirement visas and driving license renewals.
This is good news for all Aussies living on the island who are in need of such things as it will save them all a bothersome trip to Bangkok. All services require cash payments and all original documents are needed for processing. If you’re from Australia and you would like to avail yourself of any of these services, contact the consular at: firstname.lastname@example.org before going as it’s best to make sure you have everything you need before heading out. The Australian Consulate is located at: 77/77 Unit 6D Moo 5, Chalermprakiat Rama 9 (the bypass road) in Rassada.
