In an effort to raise funds for the local children’s charity, Phuket Has Been Good To Us, some of Phuket’s most prominent figures will be taking on experienced Muay Thai fighters in a fight to the death. Okay, not really to the death. But for those facing up to the professional fighters it might seem that dramatic.
On December 3rd Outrigger’s Laguna Beach Resort ballroom will play host to the event, which is known as the “Black Tie Muay Thai” event. The event promises action and excitement with the combination of fine eats and drinks with the violence of Muay Thai. Providing everyone survives (we’re sure the fighters will go easy on them) after the fight the guests will dance the night away.
The charity benefitting, Phuket Has Been Good To Us, is a Thai-registered charity that was formed in the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. The programme aims to teach English for free to over 1,200 underprivileged children in Phuket.
The event offers something for everyone and requires bookings to make sure it all goes ahead and the kids get their future lessons. Tickets for individuals will be 3,500 THB with tables of 10 also available.
