One of the most charming things for foreigners passing through Thailand is the street food. In most western countries, footpaths are used primarily for walking but in Thailand, food vendors take up most of the space. There is an abundance on offer so you’ll never go hungry, no matter what time of the day it is. There is always a food stall to be found somewhere, even during the hour of the wolf.
Recently, the International news network CNN ranked Bangkok as having some of the best street food in the world. What struck them the most was that there are different types of vendors set up at specific times of the day to take care of different crowds. Breakfast vendors are usually set up in the morning, with such things as sweet soy milk with bean curd and the rice dish chok, whereas poached chicken vendors are quite popular during lunch hours. At nighttime a rich variety of foods such as Pad Thai and grilled Satay dishes can be found, and there are plenty of other amazing dishes to be discovered at all other times as well.
