Phuket and Bangkok are the two major destinations that tourists go to when traveling through Thailand. There are many ways to get from one location to the other so we’ve decided to show you the easiest routes to take.
Phuket and Bangkok are only an hour away from each other by plane. Air Asia and Thai airways provide plenty of affordable flights between the two destinations and there are plenty of other airlines to choose from as well.
Hua Lamphong is the main railway station in Bangkok, connecting most provinces by rail. To get to Phuket, simply take a train down to Surat Thani and then catch one of the hourly buses to Phuket. All up, the trip takes around 17 hours but the scenery along the way will keep you from getting bored.
If you don’t want to fly or if the train trip seems too long, take an air-conditioned bus directly from Bangkok. The main bus stop for tours going south depart from Sai Tai Mai bus terminal in Thonburi.
If you don’t want to deal with other passengers, there is always the option of renting a car. They’re available at Suvarnhabumi Airport and other rental places in central Bangkok. If you don’t have a license or if you don’t feel like driving, taxis can take you there as well. Just make sure you negotiate a good price before the trip.
